The moral to this is also Back Up! Back Up!

A day bookended by inadvertant wanton destruction: in the morning I write my diary entry for yesterday and then (having made a form to do it with) write the entry for my gig diary. I then discover that I’ve overwritten all the reviews with the one from last night, and have to spend a few hours restoring as much as I can (which still leaves a few empty): the moral to this is Back Up! Back Up!

Then I get on with some Photoshopping for Tyrannical Tim, not absolutely shiny and perfect because I think there will be a lot of changes.

Then I go onto Garageband, which has restarted after a recent brush with non-viability. I review a couple of songs and like one of them so much that I try to download it. However it tries to open it in the window with Quicktime, and after a few minutes it becomes clear that the computer has crashed. Further, on restart it seems that it… won’t. Restart, that is. And starting up with a CD shows that the hard disk won’t mount. Joy! I won’t go through it blow by blow but there are several hours of unpleasantness before I finally manage to get the machine working. Thank goodness for Norton Utilities (and what do Symantic know about Apple’s machines that Apple themselves forgot before designing Disk First Aid)?

In a word: Grrr!
