Joe Quillin comes over in the afternoon to finish his CD and cassette covers. This unaccountably takes until 8:30 (a false start with the data CD to go to the printers, and it takes a couple of goes to get the files printed out), by which time I'm starving. Still, it's finished now. The launch is next Monday: I hope he manages to get it made in time...
Cheese sandwich and salad for dinner, then try to watch the beginning of A Zed and Two Noughts (someone on the Greenaway list asked about the typeface used on the credits, and I thought I'd have a look - all those years setting type should come in useful there, anyway). however, I can't find the remote for the TV anywhere: It's official. I now watch so little TV, that I have completely lost the remote control. And the instruction book for the One For All remote that I could use instead (the manual turns out to be sitting on top of the TVin full view, but by the time I notice it, it's so late I just want to go to bed).
For tonight's web browsing, I try to find contrasting feminist/"woman's way of knowledge" type sites. However, the weekend of Evil Misogynist Propaganda has hardened me to it somewhat. Particularly the woman who has devised a language specifically for women, to convey specifically gynocentric ideas, who bemoans the fact that no one wants to learn it whereas Klingon has become so popular. She puts this down to the fact that her language is inherently peaceful and Klingon is a language of war (and so more in keeping with the Patriarchy), rather than the fact that Star Trek has an enormous cult following in all sorts of races, cultures, ages, genders and sexual orientations and her novel doesn't. And people impersonating Klingons get to wear cool make-up.
Full stomach makes it difficult to get to sleep - this is why I eat at 7:00 rather than 9:00.
