getting off my fat arse and doing something for a change
After waking up at the usual time (7:00am), My brain has a quick debate with itself and decides to go back to bed without Sitting or eating breakfast. This is a bad Thing, really, althoug I do need the extra sleep. I wake up again at 10:30, and spend the rest of the day in a state of grogginess and philosophical confusion, on account of the confusion to my eating patterns and, possibly, missing out my half hour of just-sitting-there-thinking-of-nothing-in-particular has melted my brain.
I spend most of the day in a state of semicomatoseness updating the diary and working on the redesign of the site. I really ought to upload it soon (although, of course, if you are reading this I already have. Oh, the post-modern irony of it all!), and I also ought to get the sound files working, before which I ought to archive stuff from the Powerbook, which necessitates me getting off my fat arse and doing something for a change. Which is less than likely.
Vast quantity of cheese sndwiches for lunch/dinner (I eat it at 4:00, so who's to say what it's called?) because as everyone knows dairy products are great for the singing voice and the general state of body and mind, and in no way leave one feeling bloated and listless.
(Please note the last paragraph was largely sarcastic. Please do not attempt to take it seriously without proper training and protective clothing. If swallowed, consult a doctor immediately).
While working on the page I watch Best In Show again, this time with the commentary (by Christopher Guest and Eugene Levy). These are hardly ever less than fascinating. In fact, on the commentary to American Beauty, Sam Mendes says that he learned directing from listinging to directors commentaries on DVDs. Which, considering the relative youth of the medium, is fascinating in itself (and a little scary).
A quick bath and then off to the gig at the Old Coffee House.
Back at midnight. I do hope my body doesn't try to rebel against the timetable I've been setting it these last months.
