listening to music is hard, you know?

I take another look at the Live 365 site with the idea of starting my own station and make a rough webpage for it. I know registering and uploading tracks would be a better start, but it seemed like the thing to do.

I finally get to the gym. No sauna. Bum.

A track from David Bowie's Lodger album comes up. I suddenly remember with absolute clarity listening to it for the first time – at my grandmother's house in Milford Haven. It was one of those occasions where I wanted to rush straight to having heard the album without actually having to go through the stage of listening to it very carefully first. Because listening to music is hard, you know? After having heard it one can go back and pick out the interesting details. That said, I didn't think I'd still be sitting here twenty-one years later wondering what the effect on the guitar is.

Back to Harleyford Street Gardens at Bonnington Square (the mosaics above are set into the footpaths there). Phil Hogg was so pleased with the place when he came here last week with Breathing Space that he decided to celebrate his birthday there. We arrived, we ate and drank, it rained for a bit, it stopped raining, we made music, it got dark, we tidied up and went home. My powers of description have abandoned me. Good job I took lots of pictures.
