Indeed the one has been waiting for the other to arrive.
Completely zonked after the late night last night.
I manage to archive all the latest MP3s and of course immediately go back for more. This time, however I concentrate on getting Comedy recordings of people I've heard of but haven't heard George Carlin, Firesign Theater as well as Bill Cosby, Steve Martin, Stephen Wright, Emo, Lenny Bruce. An eye (or ear) opener, it has to be said. Firesign Theater are kind of mad Python-type humour, for example Everything You Know is Wrong is a sort of parody of UFOs, alien abduction, the Civil War, trailer trash Evel Kneivel and a lot more at the same time. And it's very funny.
It's amazing to hear how fluent Lenny Bruce is.
Doesn't mean I'm not going to hell, though.
Also find a very early (1951) Goon Show, with Michael Bentine on it. A bit like hearing embarrassing early demos from your favouite band. Compare and contrast Down Among the Z Men with The Case of the Mukkinese Battle Horn. I imagine you have no idea what I'm talking about.
On Joe Frank, Larry Block finally commences his breakdown. It ends with him having to be forcibly ejected from a woman's house with nowhere to go, paralytically drunk.
I work out that the lyrics I wrote on the way back from Up All Night a few weeks ago fit with the riff/chord progression I wrote on Saturday. Indeed the one has been waiting for the other to arrive.
