Grand public humiliation
There are degrees of disaster, and I think it’s fair to say that my attempt at leading the group was at post-graduate or doctoral level. I did everything it was possible to do wrong, wronger. Either one draws a veil over the proceedings or writes a novel about the chain of incompetences and petty dictatorialness that marked my brief tenure as leader.
My father was right: Never volunteer for anything.
