and mea culpa
Piefinger and Rich Barnard at the 12-Bar Club. Also pictures of Jennifer Clarke, who was on first. And some guitars. And some zebras.
The fastest shutter speed I could get was 1/8 second, which means that anyone who moves at all (and this includes me) causes blur. So file under "artistic", if you're feeling kind, and if you're not feeling kind, pass over in silence.
6:37 - Get up.
Sitting, breakfast.
8:10 - Haruko goes out.
8:30 - David H arrives with his MacBook. Over the next four hours we try several times to install the system, but to no avail. It's very frustrating and I miss a morning's work as well. After David leaves I quickly have lunch, pack my camera into my bag, then walk into Walker's.
Maisying.
After work, chat to Ben a bit about the CA site, the next CA album and what's needed. Walk home, as I realise I've forgotten my long zoom lens. Haruko and I compare notes about the strangeness of the day. Then I walk up to the 12 Bar Club. On the way I discover that my watch has died. More strangeness.
I sit in the balcony and photograph the stage. The first act comes on and I do some shots of her, which I'm going to have to email her about and mea culpa.
Rich Barnard plays and I photograph him as well (though I asked permission, so it's OK) - I do some shots from the back of the room, some from the side and also go up onto the balcony and get some shots from above. Also use the zoom lens for very close up close-ups.
Short break, then Piefinger are on and I do the same for them. I enjoy it and I hope I don't get in anyone's way.
After the gig say thanks and goodbye, and warn them that many of the shots will be blurry and 'artistic' and walk home.
I transfer the shots from the camera to the desktop computer. They've come out a lot better than I thought they would. Yes, very blurry, but effectively so. In fact many of them came out as I'd hoped they would, which is nice.
Eat some chickpea curry that Haru made. Soon to bed, very late.
